Virgin Islands is scheduled to compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016.
Athletics
Athletes from the Virgin Islands have so far achieved qualifying standards in the following athletics events (up to a maximum of 3 athletes in each event):[1][2]
- Men's 110 m hurdles – 1 quota place (Eddie Lovett)
- Men's triple jump – 1 quota place (Muhammad Halim)
- Women's 200 m – 1 quota place (LaVerne Jones-Ferrette)
Boxing
Virgin Islands has entered one boxer to compete in the men's super heavyweight division into the Olympic boxing tournament. Clayton Laurent had claimed his Olympic spot with a box-off victory at the 2016 American Qualification Tournament in Buenos Aires, Argentina.[3]

Sailing
Sailors from the Virgin Islands have qualified one boat in each of the following classes through the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships, the individual fleet Worlds, and North American qualifying regattas.[4]
