The 2016 United States Senate election in Connecticut will take place on November 8, 2016, to elect a member of the United States Senate to represent the State of Connecticut, concurrently with the 2016 U.S. presidential election, as well as other elections to the United States Senate in other states and elections to the United States House of Representatives and various state and local elections.
Incumbent Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal is running for re-election to a second term in office. The primaries will be held on August 9.[1]

The Republican state convention will be held on May 9, 2016 at the Hartford Convention Center to select candidates for the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives. Candidates that receive 15% of delegates have the option to challenge the endorsed candidate in a primary to be held August 9, 2016.
